FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

In our experience, it’s always best to discuss arrangements over the phone in the first instance. Please either email or give us a call to discuss - especially for group bookings

DO I NEED TO BE STRONG TO PULL A BOW?

No. We have a range of bows to suit individual strengths.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

We shoot outdoors and in all weathers so it is vital that you are dressed appropriately. In case of rain, please bring waterproofs and suitable footwear. It can get cold on the line so make sure you wrap up well in cold weather. In summer, please avoid wearing baggy or loose clothing as the material can get caught in the string. Please always wear trainers or similar. No FLIP FLOPS or open toe sandals (for safety reasons).

Long hair should be tied back.

DO I NEED ANY PREVIOUS ARCHERY EXPERIENCE?

Not at all. Our coaches will tell you all you need to know on the day.

HOW OLD TO CHILDREN HAVE TO BE?

Children need to be able to act in a mature manner when shooting and that is more important than age.

Also, children come in all shapes and sizes but in our experience, they need to be able to hold the bow themselves to get the most enjoyment out of the day. If you are unsure, you can always pop down with your child before the day to check.

ARE SPECTATORS ALLOWED?

Yes, absolutely.

WILL THERE BE OPPORTUNITIES TO TAKE PICTURES?

Yes. The coaches will let you know on the day how to take pictures safely.

IS THERE PARKING?

Yes - there is plenty of parking. The entrance is just by Lion's Gate to Kew Gardens.

CAN YOU CATER FOR LARGE GROUPS?

Yes - please give us a call or send us an email to discuss. Please note that a 50% deposit is required to secure your date.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT IS RAINING?

We are an outdoor venue and archery is an all-weather sport! Your event will go ahead if it is raining so please bring suitable clothing.

ARE YOU OPEN ON SUNDAYS?

No. We are sorry but Sundays are reserved for members of the Royal Richmond Archery Club.

ARE YOU AN ARCHERY CLUB? CAN I JOIN?

The London School of Archery is not an archery club in the traditional sense. We specialise in corporate events, birthday parties, beginners courses and taster sessions for the general public.

However, we are affiliated to the Royal Richmond Archery Club and can put you in contact with someone from the club if you have previous archery experience and are interested in joining.

CAN I JUST TURN UP AND SHOOT?

We are sorry but prior booking is essential. Please note that sessions fill up very quickly in the summer so early booking is advisable!
